Store Locator Pro — privacy

A plain summary of what the app can see, what it keeps, and for how long. The full policy served from the app's own domain is the one that governs.

The governing policy

The authoritative privacy policy for Store Locator Pro is served from the application itself, is generated from the code it describes, and is the URL given to Shopify for App Store review:

What follows is a summary for people who would like the shape of it before reading the whole thing. Where the two differ, the linked policy wins.

What it can access

Store Locator Pro requests zero Shopify data scopes by default. It cannot read your products, your orders or your customers, because it never asks for permission to.

Two features request a specific permission, and only if you switch them on:

  • Shopify location sync — reads the locations already in your Shopify admin so you do not have to re-enter them.
  • In-store availability — reads inventory levels so the widget can show which nearby store has an item.

Leave those off and the app holds no Shopify permission at all.

What it stores

  • Your locations — the addresses, hours, tags and coordinates you import or enter. This is your data, entered by you.
  • Your settings — colours, labels, languages and any custom CSS.
  • Search analytics — what shoppers searched for and roughly where from, recorded without any shopper identity attached. There is no name, no email, no account and no persistent identifier tied to a search.
  • Messages sent through the optional forms — if you enable the stockist application or shopper inquiry forms, the details submitted through them, so you can reply.

How long it is kept

Search analytics delete themselves after 90 days. Shopper messages submitted through the inquiry form are swept on the same 90-day cycle. Your locations and settings are kept for as long as the app is installed, because they are what the app is for.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling the app removes your store’s data and its sessions. The app also implements Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks, so a data request or an erasure request raised through Shopify is honoured through the normal channel.
